The Tree and Me

I watch the tree as it sways in the breeze and, as I continue to gaze at it,
I begin to feel at one with this tree and I begin to sway.
It is sharing it's energy with me and I can feel it's presence -- as the wind begins to blow we sway as one in the welcoming breeze.
The strength of the roughed limbs holds firm to support us in the wind. As we stand there, I can feel the roots holding tight to the soil beneath the earth.
What greater feeling of happiness is there for a tree other than when a gentle wind blows fresh air through it's leaves and gives it a refreshing rejuvenation?
Could it get any better?
And as we stand there together, the tree and me, a gentle rain begins to shower us with fresh water to wash away the dust of the autumn day.
The drops trickle down from upper limbs and leaves, to lower one's, each in turn enjoying the treasured freshness of the running water.
Then the water drops to the ground and begins to seep slowly into the earth to nourish our roots.
It is all so refreshing and what a privilege to feel at one with the tree and share it's energy this day.
Thank you.
