Amanda was born in Mesa, AZ, but raised a midwestern gal in Monticello, AR, Alton, IL and St. Louis, MO. She majored in comparative literature with a minor in painting at Washington University, St. Louis (BA 1999). While at Wash-U, Amanda also took modern dance classes and was introduced to professional dance at Dance St. Louis performances. She completed an art internship in 1998 at the non-profit arts center, Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, FL where she explored art making in dance, poetry and painting as well as arts management. After college, she started working for Dance St. Louis in 2000 as operation assistant, and became operations manager in 2002. Amanda is currently creating work in watercolor and is also available to create portraits or wall murals.
Her first artistic inspiration was her mother who encouraged her to make art with her while she took watercolor and drawing classes when she was a girl.
